sapphire and gold cross pendant

Can anyone tell me about this gold and sapphire pendant? It is in the shape of a cross with 5 blue sapphires. I am thinking it might be antique as the gold is brighter than other gold jewellery that I own. The pendant is about an inch by an inch. There are crosses etched out in the arms of the cross. There are no markings on the pendant. I think the piece was done by hand as the small crosses between the stones are not uniform in shape. I got this piece a few years ago in Mexico. This is a beautiful, intricate piece of jewellery and I wish I could find out more information about it. Thanks.
