This set has been handed down the male side of my husbands family for a few generations?? Any ideas, has no markings. Not sure if it's a sugar bowl as its so big compared to the jug? Does have a hole in the lid too??
It probably is a sugar bowl, as sugar used to be provided in cones, which had to be nipped off, so earlier sugar bowls tended to be large.
