      Efesgirl, many patches were hand made even when people thought they were factory made. Probably the majority of the early Nazi cloth insignia's, flags etc. were hand made. That's what makes collecting so risky. Even selling the "real" thing isn't easy because of the doubters & risk-takers, who have been cheated. I quit !

      Your patch looks like the WW2 1942-1948 Navy Hospital Corpsman striker rate.

      I understand that. It's very difficult, if not impossible, to prove the authenticity of an item like this one. There is no provenance, aside from having been found among some medals.
