    All I know is this is really old, came from an estate sale, measures 35 1/2" long, the blade is 11 1/2" on the cutting surface and is flat on one side, the head of Ax and handle

      1800-1850 broad ax. Broad axes are beveled on one side, flat on the other. Used for hewing beams for barns or split rails. Nice ax
