    This was in pride of place ( on a small bookshelf above the TV in living room) for years.
    When we had to pack up his house, I discovered how he'd hidden the power cord - he'd cut it , run the wire through a small hole the cellotaped it back together and plugged it in.

    It was thus for 30 years. How did that house not burn down!?

    He worked for GE from 1930-s-60's.
