Grandmother's Mahogany Rocking Chair

This rocking chair belonged to my husband's grandmother - and we're in our seventies. I've looked through many photos of rockers, and haven't been able to find one like it. I think it's mahogany - the wood is a lovely deep reddish color. Would be very grateful if someone could tell me more about it.
