This statue is 6cm tall. I think it is soap stone. It has some sort of signature on the bottom. I have no idea how old it is or its country of origin. Any info would be great. Thanks

This figure is very similar to those of the Chinese Star God Shou, who represents Canopus and Longevity. But he does not have any of Shou's typical attributes, children, a deer, gnarled staff, double gourd, or the Peach of Immortality. Still, best guess is Shou.

Thanks for the info. Any idea about the age or signature ?

Much traditional soapstone carving, vines, pots, with monkeys, birds and squirrels, dates generally from the 1920s to the 50s mostly from provenance. Yours might only be dated if someone recognizes the marking.
