Purchased at a farm auction some 15 to 20 years ago in with other "junk" in a box. No idea what they are.....could be farm related, old car related or even industrial machine related......no clue!
Items are approx 16-18" long, made of iron, square head locking bolts at the adjustable collars, extreme wear inside the "mounting holes" but yet they seem to be different sizes, different ID numbers on each ergo the different size holes maybe?, collars are locked in at the bottom/top near the hooked end while the spring and mounting portion operate freely. Any help or suggestions appreciated.
Ok, so I may have just solved my own mystery! I found the part number 1874B in International Harvester an it is a "cultivator Pressure Rod swivel" so now I guess the next mystery is from what era/year was it used?
I was just going to say the logo in front of the number in the third photo is "I" over "H" over "C", International Harvester Corp.
The mounted cultivators were real common in the 50's so that would be guess.
Yep you got it RIGHT carpenter17 I knew exactly what they were when I saw the first pic---They are the down presssssure rods for probably a front mount 2 row cultivator IHC Farmall
