This very old scope has markings inside the scope which are hard to make out. The name on it looks like BAFSnett. Liverpool Day or Night. Might someone know any info on this piece?

James Bassnett was an optician in Liverpool and maker of scientific intruments. From 1829-1841 the scopes were marked with just one s (Basnett) and changed to Bassnett from 1841-1855. Changed to "Bassnett and son" from 1857.
Looks legit but if you can, have it appraised as there are a lot of replicas/reproductions made.

Thank you so much! Doesn't that look like an F in the name as well?

It's an old way of writing ss, looks like fs but without the crossbar over f. It's called a long s.
