I bought this pot a couple of years ago because I was very attracted to the decadent black and gold design. I later found the name 'Kaza' painted on the side, which you can see in one of the photos. I have looked it up and there appears to have been an Edition Kaza (movement?) in France, which I think was working in the 1930s. I've tried to find out more information but am struggling. I imagine it was some kind of collective because any other Edition Kaza pieces I can find online seem to be very different from this - in fact, many of them use a crazed cream finish. I would love to find out more about the background to this piece. It's not large, around 16cm across and 13cm high, including the beautiful metal handle on top (which is more of a decorative knob). I have also tried to look up the France (and flower?) mark on the base with no luck. All ideas very welcome.

Does your say editions Kaza somewhere on it, or did you get that from the other pieces when you googled it? Anyway some others mentioned that their pieces, most of which appear to be molded or cast, may have been made for a department or porcelain retail store named Kaza.
I think yours may have been a Limoges blank which someone named Kaza has decorated and signed. Definitely a high quality, talented artist though.

Hi maryh1956, no, there is no mention of editions Kaza anywhere, just the single word 'Kaza'. I guessed it might be linked to the editions line only because I couldn't find anything else similar online. As always, a big thank you for the suggestion and I am sure you are probably right (BTW, I haven't heard back yet from M. Girbau re. the wall plaque I posted in show and tell - will keep you updated).
