Not a bloodletting tool as many think, but rather an ink eraser or scraper. C. 1900. The blade is quite sharp and it measures just about 5" in length. Depicted on it is a dove carrying an envelope. I'm guessing it was part of a set which would have included a letter opener.
Gee, this is interesting!!! have not seen or heard of this before.....Love it!!
