The headboard is very high. Solid walnut wood. The panel in the center of the headboard is very well polished knotted wood panel that when standing from a distance looks like someone stained it to look like a forest scene. But in actuality is simply knotted wood. It is illusionary to look at. My parents found it along the area of west Virginia back in the late '60's. It is a regular full size bed frame. It was in excellent condition back then and still is now to this day. the wood used is very solidly made. As for the style and naming of the style I am still researching it. but anyone feel free to chime in your guesses....there is not category for bed so I could not sub-categorize it. Eventually I plan on selling it, but at present it is being used.

Bit hard to see the detail but think it is Eastlake style. I know that from the Eastlake style furniture, beds etc, that I have seen, some of the best was made in Quebec, Canada. I wanted to buy a large one once, but the bed height was 10-11 feet tall, and I think the price was around 10K.

Your bed is Eastlake and dates from the late 19th century.

I remember when my parents brought it home. They hired a U-Haul and they also had several other pieces they found during that vacation. But west Virginia was where they found it. on a farm somewhere on the coastal area of highways. I don't remember the highways they took only that you could see the ocean along where they drove. I was happy if they stayed at a motel with a swimming pool back then. And yes the height was of concern to my parents but when they put it together they lucked out on the bedroom ceiling. I will retitle it based on your input. thanks so much.
