    Everything has a story
Found this little white vase for a dollar figured it was from 1900 - 1920.
Did some research and discovered that was probably made around 1850 (I was 50-70 years off) in France and was popular for holding the flowers that a bride carried during a wedding and would be placed on the table in front of her during the wedding meal. Originally it would have been covered with gilding, but that has long been worn away. I found the exact vase on eBay France- they are not worth a lot.

This object travelled from Paris to New Hampshire maybe with an immigrant, maybe sent from abroad as a gift and 162 years later nobody remembered the significance or the person to which it originally belonged. It ended up in a consignment store.
