Blushing Apple Cookie Jar

This is the Blushing Apple Jar from McCoy. This is one of the most common and popular cookie jars McCoy made. The glaze can vary with different amounts of burgundy. This is one of the pieces that features an error. If you look to the right of the photo it shows that the finial on the lid is correctly positioned. Now look to the left. See the difference? The finial is upside down. Weird right? You would think they would've found this error before shipping them out and selling them, but apparently they didn't. Only a few jars escaped with this error.

This jar is marked McCoy uSA on the bottom and also comes in green with burgundy splotches and a matte red with gold finial.

A rare version exists where the finial features a saw-toothed leaf rather than the simple version.
