I inherited this chair from my aunt. Years ago it belonged to my grandparents. It was reupholstered in the 80s and is in very good condition. My guess is that it’s from the Eastlake & Aesthetic Movement (c.1880-1900) of Victorian Furniture because of the simplicity and the floral design carved in the wood. Regardless, it’s an heirloom I’ll always treasure.

Is there any way I can tell if it was hand carved, or mass produced?
    Thanks!

It is French in style. I don't know whether it is a vintage reproduction or not. If I remember correctly, it is Louis XVI (Louis the 16th). It is likely to be walnut wood.
