Horse drench bit

This item was used by veterinarians and ranchers to hold a horse's mouth open to allow inspection of the teeth and to allow passing a hose directly into the stomach to deliver medicines or drenches (wormers). The tool was placed into the mouth then rotated down to open the mouth and hold it. I found the tool at a garage sale in Ohio.
