Mexican Peasant Marionette

Going through my dad's estate, I found a variety of Mexican marionettes - 3 were the standard ones we regularly see - the bandit, the mariachi, the senorita - but then I saw this peasant gentleman. I've looked all over the web and can't find another like him, with his peasant outfit - and he's holding a chicken! Chances are my grandfather came back from Mexico with him as a souvenir sometime in the 1940's or 50's. I'm hoping that someone can give me any details about his age or manufacture.
