I found this in a shop in Loveland Colorado and had to take it home.
I'm not at all educated on pottery, types of clay or glazes so I am having difficulty with identifying it.

The body is "raw' with no glaze or finish except for the green enamel band, fish (?) and handle. The bottom doesn't appear to have a mark of an kind. And it wasn't until I took photos that I saw the ghost image of the fish on the opposite side above the handle. It measures 4.5"h x 5"w with handle.

Curiosity is getting the better of me! Is this a rice bowl or just an art project by a student?

    :)

There are what appear to be impressed marks on the bottom but are not readable in the photo. Silly Putty is a good tool for this, as it can be pressed into the mark and then looked at in a mirror. Or, you can darken the mark with ash.
