Don't know how it is used. Has two claws with each facing the
opposite direction. There is knurling on the hammer face. The handle end is mushroomed from being struck. No markings as to patent or manufacturer. Believe it's a specialized hammer but don't know what.
This is a crating tool or hammer. The various parts are used to pry open wooden crates, pry out nails or boards, and the hammer head is for re-sealing them.
