Last week I found this silver spoon in a thrift shop. It's 18 cm. long and the weight is 58 gram.
The makers mark is from J.M. van Kempen & Sons and the year letter is G (1891).
Engraved the text "Neeltje 26 sept. 1918". Neeltje is a Dutch name.
Was Neeltje born on 26 sept. 1918? And why engrave a spoon from 1891 with the date 1918? I don't know.
And the price.......€ 0,30!
Can't beat the price! Hard to say why somebody would have a 27 year old silver spoon engraved. :-)))
