I recently bought a property and this engine cover (?) was left in a pile outside. The words on it say 'The Robert Bell Engine and Thresher Co Ltd Seaforth ONT' In the middle of the cover there are three letters/numbers which may be 362 E or maybe 382 E. It is about 25.5" in diameter. Does anyone know what this is and/or if it would be of interest to a collector? Is there a more appropriate web site where I should be posting my photos and questions? Any comments or information would be appreciated.

No idea for certain, but it looks an awful lot like it could have been the front of a boiler...? I think its pretty cool anyway, no matter what it is -- nice find! :-)

Thank you! This is a great photo. Is this the cover for a boiler? Where might I advertise my piece for sale?

to AnythingObscure Thank you for your comment. Much appreciated. Do you know where I might advertise this piece for sale?

Yes it's a access door. eBay is a great plan to sell things. Possibly look into different forms of shipping so you can appeal to a verity of buyers.

There are many "Threshermens" groups around. These are steam tractor hobbyists and collectors. Rough & Tumble in PA comes to mind. Google Steam tractor groups. You can probably get more help from them than railroad guys in this particular instance
