      Sounds like you may have the real thing & no salt water damage. HB (if they still exist) in TO has a good coin collectors counter.

      How can you tell if it is fake.

      Most fakes are cast instead of stamped. Look for a mold mark around the edge. Casting has a diff. surface that a collector or dealer will be able to tell. I know very little about Spanish coins, but if real, don't let anybody talk you into selling it until you have several opinions. Maybe a Real .
