I’m looking for information on this WWI medal or pin. This is paternal great grandfather, around 1910-1920. It’s hard to see much about it except for the eagle at the top.

    Unsolved Mystery

Hard to see any details. Nothing officially military. It certainly could be military related or fraternal, club, etc.... Many possibilities.

It seems many states and cities issued a World War Service Medal with variations on a theme. Most were a state seal, some where depictions of Lady Victory, as this one appears to be.

      Example:

You know where he is from, so start there.

I agree with TubeAmp. Most likely a military service pin awarded by a veteran organization or community (city, county, or state)

      Could be...

Keep in mind that makers of these badges used similar eagle toppers for all sorts of organizations-- masonic, fraternal, vfw, gar, etc...

Here is a SIMILAR top for FOE:
      https://www.ebay.com/itm/Badge-Grand-Aerie-of-Eagles-Washington-State-FOE-Spokane-1908/132334663634?hash=item1ecfc2b7d2:g:YQUAAOSwmblZwX4D

Here is a SIMILAR top for GAR:
      https://www.ebay.com/itm/1902-G-A-R-Grand-Army-of-the-Republic-Souvenir-Badge-Stevens-Point-Wisc/122785533920?hash=item1c96968fe0:g:VisAAOSwY~1Z-Rjt

The key is the drop-- find that and you have something. Good luck.
