    Here is a original Gilbert Micropscope set . Not sure of the year but remember them in the 5 and 10 cent stores years ago 1960’s . This one is new in the box .

      Can't wait to show this to my husband, he may have had a starter scope like this one as a kid, grew up to be a microscope tech - they still make these for kids today but some jazzier (i.e purple vinyl, although many more bonafide like yours) which we have occasionally given kids as gifts, very educational for boy or girl
