      In the later 30's to 40's they made more than a few with boxes, most are double, one on each side. Usually just called a dresser.

      I have a very similar dresser. Tall boy chest of drawers with a single "valet. Box". Im guessing early depression era mine has a hinged top with a thick mirror attached. With no makers mark or date stamped i can only guess, however i have NEVER seen an exact match to mine anywhere on the internet. Still looking though.
