    This was found about two feet below ground. It has a solid handle with knotch above and below. Trying to identify what it is before I bother trying to remove more rust.

      This looks like a joke post. That looks like an old broken rusty tie rod end. If that is what it is, take it back where you found it and bury it 3 feet deep.

      It is not a joke. I just have no idea what it is. Near it I also found tons of old pottery and glass so an honest question.

      I'm going to guess a boring tip for drilling wells.

      Thank you that would make sense. I'm going to try to remove the rust and see if I can find an image of one that looks like it.
