Vintage Sears, Roebuck & Co. 8 piece living room set. I'm curious about what year it's from and if the plaid cushion covers are the original ones.

These are definitely from the 1970's, I remember their clunky wooden couches like these. The covering is unfortunately what was in style and is original. Prob from around 1973-5.
Yes, the 1970s. My parents had a set with brown plaid cushions. There was a big Sears store in their town so that's probably where they got theirs that they used daily for 45 years!
The foam rubber inner cushions had started to crumble but that plaid fabric was indestructible!
I wanted to recover the chair and sofa and paint the wood parts but it was just too heavy and bulky to move/store so it wound up going to Salvation Army.
These sets were really sturdy/made to last.
I think that style was referred to as "cannon ball" for obvious reasons.
There were beds in that style also.
