Very pretty scroll, pink background, badly damaged, but hope to repair. Scroll given to my mother by friend who emigrated to Canada from Beijing as a child.

Thanks K. I tried, but could not make it work. You've given me a good start. I've researched scrolls a lot over the past week, so this translation makes sense.
A VERY fine painting done in the style of Ni Zan. . . so fine that I got initially super excited that this WAS a lost Ni Zan. This doesn't this is a copy but a painting done in emulation of the great master, suggesting the painter, Xu Ji's erudite knowledge. Definitely worth the money to have it remounted and repaired.
The photos are too poor to make any more substantial comments on the painting.
Hello wma - thank you! I do plan to have them repaired and mounted. They have been rolled up in a plastic bag for more than 40 years. They are crumbling.
