Watneys Red ceramic ashtray.

Super condition ceramic ashtray promoting the widely derided Watneys Red Barrel pale ale beer which was available in the UK during the 60s and early 70s. This ashtray is from its final incarnation as Watneys Red (it dropped the barrel) and promoted itself with the tagline of 'Join the Red Army' using, rather bizarrely, Russian motifs to promote the beer. It seemed to die out during the mid-70s and was even mentioned in a Monty Python sketch.
It's a great looker, the only scratching is on the underside and it's great that all four rubber feet are still in place.
So there you have it, horrible beer, attractive ashtray. Great to have in my collection.
