When we moved into our current shop building (20+yrs ago) it came with a HALSEY-TAYLOR water cooler/drinking fountain, a standalone machine that sat on the floor between the restroom doors, which was probably original to the (late 1960's?) building itself. A waistish high brown metal box with stainless steel top, it had plumbing/refrigeration stuff within which indeed did a wonderful job of providing a little stream of chilled drinking water at the touch of a button.

UNTIL, that is, its drain eventually got a little plugged up. And one of my co-workers (the proverbial 'bull in a china shop guy') attacked said drain with various sharp steel objects, which promptly utterly destroyed whatever until-then-still-completely-functional parts of the (brass, probably) drain pipes inside it were -- thus rendering the whole thing just a big soggy metal box leaking puddles on the floor. :-( :-( :-(

And I guess I must have been about the *only* one that really liked it anyways, as even despite my not quite yet successful attempts to fix it (not being able to find conveniently sized 'replacement anything' for its original drain parts at the local hardware store) it ended up being unceremoniously dragged outside into the dumpster (likely by the same 'bull in the china shop' who destroyed it in the 1st place) shortly thereafter. I cut my losses, gave up, and settled for rescuing its nameplates...here they are.

The shiny chromed HALSEY-TAYLOR badge was at the top front edge of its cabinet just under the stainless bowl, the flat aluminum 'spec nameplate' was on its backside near the bottom. The only other part of it still surviving is its actual (chromed, brass?) water spout which I also unscrewed and kept, but I'm not certain at the moment exactly what box of stuff *that* is currently in nor where that box is...the nameplates were otherwise handy for pics today anyway... <giggle>

I feel your pain of the loss of your water fountain.
When my dad closed down his business, he took his water fountain home, stored it for a decade or so, then I got it with the idea of hooking it up somewhere convenient to the yard where I spend most of my time.
Well, it then stayed stored in my garage for a decade or two. I eventually missed it, inquired about it’s whereabouts and found out my son had taken it to the dump some years ago!
It was Halsey Taylor also, was a rather slim machine which didn’t take up a lot of floor space and produced the coldest water I’ve ever gotten from a water fountain. And no leaks!
Wouldn’t we appreciate those cold sips in this hot weather?!!

Thank you SO very sincerely for your kind comments Watchsearcher & keramikos, also of course also to fortapache, Newfld, Irishcollector., Brunswick, & jscott0363 for the <love it>s.

In retrospect I do kinda wish I'd have un-dumpstered it at the time and dragged it home with me instead (where I might have eventually been able to fix it and now continue to enjoy it?) but hindsight *is* a b**ch, ain't it...?? :-) :-) :-)
