Bought this at a Thrift store $3.00 its 11 3/4 x 8 1/4 looks like Carmel candy mixed in with it never seen a ashtray like this one any help, on back No. 55-162 Its probably made in California, O its 2 inches thick I'm thinking maybe in center were hole is a lighter went there. I got a nother one its a Starfish ashtray put it on next time.
These ashtrays originally sat at the top of a metal stand that had four legs, a shelf below the ashtray, and a handle that stuck up through the hole in the center. I don't know for sure the manufacturer, maybe Lane & Co.
Thanks Artfoot after looking them up an seeing them again from when I was a kid back in the 50' an 60's thanks alot I forgot about them.
