You would most certainly have to remove the clock works from the case. Many of them are stamped and you can see the stamp once removed. It would have to be removed from the case to be oiled anyway. You might already know but the pendalum needs to be lifted out of the case before you ever move a clock. If it's left inside and hanging while you move it, it will almost always damage the clock. Value would depend on many factors including maker, serial number, condition of the clock works, cabinet and many other factors. It might be worth having a clock repair person take a look at it to see if it is worth salvaging.

it is either german or vienna. my father was a huge clock collector and restorer. he had a lot of these and the were mostly german or vienna regulators. but treasure is right you need to remove the pendulum and then remove the face so you can look and the movement. individual clock makers way back had their own signature stamp they would add to identify the clocksmith.
