This is certainly not my area of expertise. I am a tool collector, and this came in a box lot, and I have no history on it. African? Viking? Movie Prop? Super thin blade. Bone Handle. Copper(?) band holding bone on. Metal (iron) pommel. Looks like it was buried at some point. Is it a tool or a weapon? Any guesses out there?
    thanks

I would suggest it wasn't used as a weapon. Try and stab someone with that thin blade and all you will do is piss them off and the minute you hit bone a blade that thin will snap. The last picture looks like it may have been attached to something else.

You would think the thin blade would have rusted away over time??? Is it magnetic???

It is magnetic. The pommel end looks more like it was decorative or for smashing then attaching to something else. Thanks!

If bonè handle, probably water buffalo, philipines or indonesia... characteristic blade fr those areas... and dont let thin blade put you off... might be made from car leaf springs... v durable... and since metal scarce, they made most of what they had...
