    i found this a couple of months ago - a laquer box by Megan Hess for Henri Bendel, New York. Made in China and has the $48 price tag too. The leather lining is very good quality - feels like calf skin. The box is 7.5 in by 5.5 in.

      does anyone know anything about Megan hess or Henri Bendel?

      i looked up both Megan Hess and Henri Bendel. Bendel's in NYC shut up their store just this month. Hess's designs - particularly this one which is pretty rare are occasionally available for big $$!
