French prints with hand painted frames.

These two pictures are prints. They are matted and framed. I was told they are french. The frames are hand-painted with flowers and birds. The painting extends out onto the glass. These particular pictures seem to represent spring and winter. I have always assumed someone else has the summer and fall versions. These 2 have been in my family since the early 1900's. I would love to hear from anyone who has seen anything like them.
