I'VE REDISCOVERED THIS COKE PHOTO WHILE SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING ELSE . IT IS VERY NOSTALGIC . I REMEMBER SEEING THE IMMIGRANTS SELLING VEGGIES AND FRUIT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD OUT OF THE BACK OF THEIR PICK-UP TRUCKS.

In my area, there were few “immigrants”....who we had were just the locals selling the produce from their own gardens .....lots of melons, tomatoes, corn, okra, and more. Any well traveled road or intersection could be a good spot...made better by a nice shade tree!
Around here, these roadside trucks are still fairly common and have fresh produce at good prices.
      I love your photo.

Thanks Watchsearcher,3! I remember the family gardens also ! Our neighborhood had a shared community garden! Those were the days!

A community garden would be nice...people to share the work!! I have a fairly large garden and sometimes I wonder why I don’t just make it easy on myself and buy the stuff at the store.
I invited my neighbor over to pick all the tomatoes and zucchini she wanted because I was swamped with them....that’s the closest to community gardening I’ve ever gotten. ;-)
