Sewing basket with silk lining

I’ve had this basket since my grandmother brought it back from the family homestead in Montana in 1984. I’ve never known who made it, or how old it is. I know there were Native Americans near the homestead, but this doesn’t look like any Native American basketry I’ve ever seen.
