Would like to find out more about this piece and how much it may cost to get it professionally restored. Anyone have any ideas or advice?

We need a new catagory, "SHOW and ASK".... It seems that a lot of people are going that way any more. As for advise, I think you need to have aprofessional look, touch, and really examine your piece......only a fool would give you an esimate on a web site......
When you ask for my opinion, be prepared to hear the unfiltered truth.

Truth is good. So is your advice. I will look for someone locally to come see this piece and point me in the right direction. Thanks Pop!

If you post some additional photographs, someone here can give you an idea how old it is.

Photos of the drawer sides (show dovetails), bottom of a drawer, brass backs in the drawer, inside with drawers out, and back of the desk would all help.
