Hi everyone! I inherited this vase, and have been unable to find out anything about it. A friend suggested it may be a Brush McCoy piece, so I contacted them to be told the bottom wasn't consistent with that,so no,it's not. It is heavier than expected, and the surface is painted (?) with a rough spackled effect. The ears have lines etched in. No idea what it's made from, who made it or how old it is.
Any advice would be greatly welcomed. Many thanks

I don’t recognize the form, but my guess would be most of the letters/numbers denote your vase was a glaze test piece - so likely won’t be useful for determining attribution. Hopefully someone will recognize the shape

Thank you, art.pottery, that makes sense. I really hope someone recognizes the shape, would really love to know who made it. The only thing I do know for certain is that it is very old, my Gran loved collecting! :-)

UPDATE: After much searching, and the help of some awesome professionals, the case of the mystery vase has been solved! Here is an excerpt: "...produced by a company called A G Harley Jones. WILTON was one of their trade names. The vase that you have is called SAMIAN ware - it was not one of their most popular ranges and was not produced for long. I think that the date range will be 1907 to the the end of the 1910s.".Thank you very, very much to everyone for the help!
