We got this from household items when my husband’s mother passed away. His grandmother had also lived there and he thought it may have been hers. All we know about it is that it’s old. It is stiff, not pliable at all...any guesses?
Brings back fond memories of Doc Harwood. He had one of these he carried all his medicine, blood pressure cuff etc in when he made house calls. If we were good kids we got to ride along and play on the lawns as he visited his patients and made his rounds. Those were the days.
Thanks for the info....it appears a name plate or something similar was removed from the the top, so that would make sense.
