    Purchased early August 2011 in Nevada - there are 3 of these small bracelet style metal items - each item has a gold tone center as pictured with the name of a town in France - Verdun, Alsace and France - I think they are trench art but not sure. They are not rings as pictured on this site- trench art section - napkin rings mite be closer to actual use or design.

    Would really like to know what they are. much appreciated ....

      Yes, they are trench art.

      I own one with "Verdun" and I have seen them with other battles engraved.

      I've always called them napkin rings and based on the size, I don't know of any other purpose.
