I just picked this up at an auction and can’t find anything on the maker. Appears to be MOV Rodriguez. Is this just a movie souvenir?

Seeing a manufacturer's name is a good thing. Should be near the base of the blade or handguard.
Typical of those made in Oaxaca, Mexico.
