This was a 99c Goodwill item not too long ago -- as much because I needed something at that moment to help hold a handful of loose flatware and stuff I'd picked until I got to the checkout, as well as because I figured it could be a suitable addition to my kitchen shelf that otherwise holds the crocks/jars/etc of miscellaneous utensils. (that always seem to be stuffed full for some reason...??? <lol>)

I'm guessing it was made to fit inside one of those electric bread making machines that are (were?) popular appliances to take up your spare counterspace (and/or fulfill various gifting obligations?) because of the hex shaped socket on its bottom. The raised letters reading MAXIMUM FILL with a short line below are its only markings, it is 5" across and 6-1/2" tall.

That is *absolutely* a possibility TallCakes, perhaps an even more likely one since it isn't otherwise finished in any kind of 'non-stick' surface like typically found on skillets and bakeware -- THANK YOU for pointing out what I kinda overlooked?!!

THANKS also to fortapache, vetraio50, Alfie21, dav2no1, and jscott0363 for your love-its!! Another pic just added to show it doing its new duty on the shelf, where it is just the *perfect* size?! :-) :-) :-)
