I LOVE and collect Steiff. However my prized possession is not. Here is the beautiful Chinook, made by the FW Woolnough Co. 1st half of the 20th century. This piece rivals any Steiff in workmanship and detail. For those who aren’t familiar, Chinook was one of Admiral Byrd’s beloved dogs that accompanied him on expeditions to Antarctica. ( In more modern day, a breed of dog has been developed in the image of this canine hero and is recognized by AKC . Enjoy!
