GM PN 392-9741 Steering Wheel Horn Button
Evidently, this PN was used for multiple GM Horn Button Models. However, I cannot identify which model vehicle this particular horn button belonged to…. The image appears to be a Conquistador, and the only vehicle GM made with this reference was a later model El Camino, but cannot find anything like this. The emblem is similar to the Chrysler late 50’s Desoto Conquistador, but why the GM PN?
Any ideas?? Thanks!
I kept thinking it looked familiar..yeah..the Desoto.
I did some searching ..how did you figure this is a GM part number? I didn't see anything to support that?
Buick used a lot of shields and other type imagery.. could also be an aftermarket part. A lot of hood ornaments got replaced wity weird stuff.
Maybe reach out to these guys and see if they have any idea..

Thank you for your reply! When I enter the part number on the back of the cap, it pulls up the exact part for the Chevelle and a couple of other GM mid 60’s vehicles with various GM emblem. I’ll try posting it in the place you recommended, thanks again!

I did find out that GM made parts for Chrysler over the years, and it’s very possible they made this for the DeSoto. But I can’t find anyone to confirm it just yet. I’ll definitely update when I get confirmation.

Here's some Desoto info ..
"The original Circle Symbol Emblem DeSoto logo is believed
to be Hernando DeSoto's coat of arms (see top of page photo); it was diluted more and more until, by the end in 1961, it was reduced to the
cross mark in the middle of the 1960-1961 wheelcover. A brief
attempt at a different stylized logo showed up in the middle of the
1958 Adventurer wheel cover and later on the front bumper, trunk lid
and steering wheel center of the entire 1959 DeSoto line. This is
another abstract figure that looks somewhat like an eagle with a
conquistador's helmet"
