Hi! Can anyone tell me why this has 2 serial numbers? Or give me any info on it? This was given to me by a friend and I’m trying to find information about it. Thanks!

Between the Collectors Weekly Show & Tell software problems, and a non-CW S&T project I've been working on, I see that I'm falling behind the times. >8-0
When you made reference to two serial numbers, I suspect that one of them is the one on the SIMANCO motor that looks like 5794560.
That one doesn't truly allow us to date the machine; however the motor model does help us determine the minor sewing machine head model, More about that later.
The important serial number on most vintage Singer sewing machine heads is the one in the little bronze-colored cartouche on the bed in front of the pillar, in this case AF721287.
Serial number AF721287 was one of a block of 15,000 consecutive serial numbers ([AF]720751 through [AF]735750) allotted by the central office to one of its factories, and all were intended to be stamped into the beds of model 66 sewing machines.
Yours probably rolled off of the assembly line some time between the allotment date of its block (December 18 1940), and that of the next block of serial numbers intended for model 66 machines (February 12 1941):

Because of the solid balance wheel, the stitch length lever, and the B.R.7 motor, it's proably either a 66-16 or a 66-24.
