    Hi came across this item (Octant) with a date of 1781 Makers Cole of London it also has a name of John Davis on the cross beam i think that was the owner ? I found this at a local car boot sale and seller did,nt know what it was so i brought it and really please with my find !
    Love to know anything else about this item.Thankyou Colin
