This pair of Empire style candlesticks is a thrift store find. Red gold and 15.5 cm high. Made somewhere in Western Europe. Galvanization started in the middle of the 19th century, but the bottom iron machine screws appear not to be galvanized. So I suppose that could indicate that the candlesticks are in fact from the Empire period. But maybe you know better ?
