This is not a casserole dish. Pots not seen on eBay - rare?? Purchased in Melbourne Australia in early 1980's. Value unknown. Also have 1L pot, both with glass lids.

      Hi, HonestBob. :-)

The Spice of Life pattern was produced 1972 - 1988:

      https://www.corningware411.com/p/welcome-to-consolidated-patterns-page.html

Here are the 'known' (known to the OP of that site) Spice of Life pieces:

      https://www.corningware411.com/p/list-of-known-spice-o-life-pieces.html

      About the U-Series:

      https://www.corningware411.com/2015/04/u-is-for-unsolved-mystery-u-series.html

I myself avoid the valuation mine field. Valuation is done by a partner business entity under the Barneby corporation umbrella:

      https://www.valuemystuff.com/us/appraisal

It isn't a free service, and I don't think I'd recommend it in this case, because I don't think the value of the item warrants the cost of the appraisal.

Your item has what looks to me like a lot of metal marks, and if you want to remove them or at least minimize their appearance, you could try a product called Bar Keepers Friend (I've used it myself for many years).

      HonestBob, Just a little refinement/clarification:

      *snip*

The U appears to stand for "Unclad" rangetopper (meaning they
      contain no aluminum. Pieces range from the U-1-B, U-1 1/2-B, U-2 1/2-B
and U-5-B. All of which look exactly like the N-series rangetoppers,
minus the aluminum cladding on the bottom.

      *snip*
