Cynthia Hipkiss was born in New York in 1948; but has lived in Sonoma California most of her life. She attended California College of Arts and Crafts. She moved to Sonoma and finished her education at Sonoma State University where she got a BA degree in Art, 1970.
Known for her humorous figures of plump women and portly men, the award-winning Sonoma Valley artist highlights celebrities and everyday people alike.
